DC Kathua reviews progress of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme

KATHUA, AUGUST 11: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting at the DC Office Complex to review the implementation status of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme for the financial year 2025-26 in the district.
It was informed that under HADP, 19 projects have been earmarked for Agriculture and allied sectors in Kathua, covering Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture and related areas. The projects aim to boost productivity, promote diversification and enhance farmers’ income through a coordinated and technology-driven approach.
The DC took department-wise reviews and sought detailed updates on the physical and financial progress achieved so far. He directed the concerned officers to maintain close inter-departmental coordination for the successful rollout of all 19 projects, while also ensuring timely resolution of bottlenecks.
He stressed the need to focus on key performance indicators and called for expediting farmer registrations to meet the set targets, thereby improving Kathua’s contribution to the overall performance of the Union Territory.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable agricultural growth, value addition and welfare of farming communities through effective execution of HADP interventions.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kathua, Chief Agriculture Officer, GM DIC, ACR, ACD, CPO, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, besides other sectoral officers and stakeholders.
