DC Kathua reviews functioning of Health department, implementation of Schemes
Stresses on maximum Institutional Deliveries, extension of health scheme benefits to last man
KATHUA, JULY 01: District Development Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting to review the health care scenario and the healthcare facilities in the district.
The meeting was attended by CMO Kathua, Dy. CMO, Kathua, District Tuberculosis Officer, District Health Officer, RTO Kathua, District Immunization Officer, besides concerned officers and officials of health department.
A threadbare discussion was held on various issues like Health Care achievements, Patient care, FW and Immunization and other related issues.
The CMO gave a detailed overview through a power point presentation and projected various issues regarding Staff dearth and other related issues.
The DC took feedback about the implementation of the schemes and programmes under National Health Mission, including RBSK, JSY, RCH/Portal ANMOL, JSSK, RBSK, VHND, besides covid containment measures.
The DC asked for focusing on monthly review to address issues related to health and to make an exhaustive list of parameters vis a vis health.
Expressing his concern over low institutional delivery in the district and high MMR, the DC asked the concerned to work out a mechanism for intervention and inter-departmental coordination to improve the health profile of the District.
The DC also called for exploring the platform of Radio to create awareness & disseminate important information amongst the public regarding the health schemes on the lines of “Awaam Ki Awaaz” broadcast programme of LG.
The DC directed CMO to make a roster of health officials to conduct RBSK Camps in schools and ensure coverage of all enrolled students with cooperation of the education department.
The DC further directed to explore the option of Teleconsultation so that doorstep healthcare facilities can be provided to the patients.
Regarding NLEP (National Leprosy Eradication Programme), the DC asked for focusing on areas that need intervention to eradicate leprosy, especially 53 villages where leprosy cases have been reported in the last 10 years. He also called for chalking our strategy for Eradication of TB from Hilly areas of the district.
The RTO while speaking on the occasion apprised the meeting about the documents required for processing the compensation cases of death or permanent disability/injuries caused due to accident.
Later, the DC felicitated Doctors and other paramedics who have won ‘Kayakalp Awards’ for their exemplary services.
