Calls for concerted efforts to cover left out populace  

          KATHUA, DECEMBER 09: To finalize the action plan for saturation of Aadhaar cards and availability of UIDAI Centres, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee at DC Office Complex here.

          Senior Superintendent of Police SP, PO ICDS, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, DSEO besides other Committee members and representatives of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) were present in the meeting.

On the occasion, the DC held a threadbare deliberation about a mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.

The concerned officers informed the chair that the Aadhaar Enrollment process stands at 78% besides briefed him about the status of Aadhaar Seva Kendras operating in the district. The DC asked the stakeholder departments/ agencies to motivate the residents to enroll children below 5 years for Aadhaar and to get Mandatory Biometric updates (MBU) done on attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years.

The DC called upon all concerned departments to saturate the remaining Aadhaar Enrollment Process in the district besides launching mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhaar enrolment. He directed DIO Kathua to undertake aggressive IEC campaigns through print and social media. 

While discussing the rejection incidents, the DC directed CEO, CMO, PO ICDS, CSCs to sensitize the operators handling Aadhaar data updating to be cautious while making entries and ensure the data entered is accurate and up to date. 

          The DC called for making coordinated efforts to cover the uncovered populace as it will facilitate the public to have access to Aadhaar linked services. He directed PO ICDS, CEO, CMO to hold special camps for the enrollment of left out population in the district.  

It was given out in the meeting that a dedicated Toll Free Number 1947 can be used to check the status of Aadhaar and to update the biometric and demographic details. It was also informed that UIDAI has put in place a mechanism to avoid any potential fraud or impersonation and to confirm the genuineness of Aadhaar through mAadhaar app or by visiting the official website https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify and scanning the QR code available on all forms of Aadhaar.
