DC Bandipora reviews functioning of RDD

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 6: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Rural Development Department (RDD) to assess the progress and performance of various schemes being implemented across the district, including all three subdivisions- Bandipora, Sumbal, and Gurez.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Assistant Commissioner Panchayats (ACP), Executive Engineer REW Bandipora, Executive Engineer R&B SSD Gurez, and all Block Development Officers (BDOs) of the district.
The meeting undertook a block-wise review of major schemes, including District Capex, MGNREGA, PMAY-G (1.0 & 2.0), SBM-G, RGSA, and the Panchayat Advancement Index, besides UT Capex, ABDP, APDP, MPLADS, and CDF.
During the review, the DC took a detailed appraisal of the MGNREGA performance indicators, including e-KYC completion, delayed compensation (R14.1) and social audit pendency for FY 2025–26. She impressed upon officers to ensure timely completion of works, clearing of pending payments, and transparency in wage disbursement for public satisfaction.
It was informed that several community-oriented works are under execution, including plantation drives at Madwan, construction of roads with drains in Panchayat Chanpora Nadihal, besides other rural infrastructure projects across blocks.
The DC issued directions for prioritizing completion of ongoing works, especially those with direct community benefit, and instructed officers to regularly update progress on the district monitoring dashboard.
She further directed concerned engineers and BDOs to ensure proper technical supervision of all the completed assets.
The DC also reviewed progress under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-G) and emphasized the maintenance of cleanliness assets in every Panchayat with active involvement of PRIs in their upkeep and monitoring.
Under PMAY-G, the department reported ongoing progress in construction of houses for eligible beneficiaries with focus on 100 percent geo-tagging and timely completion.
While reviewing progress under District Capex, UT Capex, ABDP and CDF, the DC directed officers to accelerate execution to achieve both physical and financial targets within set deadlines.
The DC stressed on better inter-departmental coordination, regular field visits, and strict adherence to timelines to ensure effective implementation of all schemes.
