DC Bandipora inspects progress on major projects; stresses timely completion

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today made an inspection of developmental works in the district and also checked the damages caused by recent torrential rains and flash floods.
During the visit, DC took stock of the Gund Kaisar Bridge, which had suffered foundation damages due to the flash floods. She issued on-spot directions to the Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora for the temporary restoration of the bridge under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), ensuring immediate relief and connectivity for the local population.
DC also inspected various developmental activities of the R&B department in Panchayat Halqa Gamroo. She inspected the under-construction 100-bedded Gujjar and Bakerwal Girls’ Hostel being executed at an estimated cost of Rs.457.78 crore, aimed at providing modern residential and educational facilities for students from tribal communities.
In addition, she took stock of the work on the Multi-Level Car Parking project at Gulshan Chowk, which is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.487.07 crore to decongest traffic and improve urban infrastructure in Bandipora town. She directed the concerned that the Project shall be completed before Winter so that relief is provided to the public at the earliest.
DC directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of work and maintain quality standards, underlining the importance of timely completion of these projects for the benefit of the people.
