DC Bandipora inaugurates Road Safety Month, flag-off awareness rally

BANDIPORA, JANUARY 1: As part of the Road Safety Month observance, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today flagged off a road safety awareness rally from the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The awareness rally saw active participation from Sumo drivers and departmental officials, who carried placards conveying key messages on traffic discipline, safe driving, and accident prevention. Moving through major areas of Bandipora town, the rally aimed to sensitise the public about the importance of following traffic rules and adopting responsible road behaviour.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner said the initiative was focused on building a culture of road safety among motorists, commuters, pedestrians, and students alike. She stressed that responsible conduct on roads and strict adherence to traffic norms are essential to reducing accidents and saving lives.
Officials informed that a series of activities including awareness camps, rallies, seminars, and interactive sessions will be organised across the district throughout Road Safety Month to further strengthen public awareness and promote safe and disciplined driving practices.
