Counter-terror Operations Targeting Terror Infrastructure, Funding Must Continue in Mission Mode: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jan 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing must continue in a “mission mode,” asserting that all necessary resources will be made available to achieve the goal of a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, Shah directed all security agencies to remain alert and work in close coordination to ensure that the security gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are sustained. He assured that the government would provide full support and resources to security forces in this effort.
The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, and the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the Union Territory. Senior officials, including heads of the Central Armed Police Forces and other top officers, were also present.
Appreciating the efforts of security agencies in improving the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah emphasised that operations against terrorist infrastructure and terror financing should be intensified and carried out in a focused and sustained manner.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government remains committed to ensuring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and to completely eliminating terrorism from the region.
Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, the Home Minister said that due to sustained and coordinated efforts, the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir has been significantly weakened, according to an official statement.
