Comm Secy LED inaugurates Mega Job Fair-2022 at Kala Kendra Jammu
1132 candidates shortlisted for jobs, 73 candidates selected for jobs, 93 candidates for skill training during the fair
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 08: Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment department (LED), Sarita Chauhan today inaugurated a Mega Job Fair 2022 held at Kala Kendra here.
The Job Fair was organised by the Directorate of Employment and witnessed huge participation of youngsters in which more than 30 local and national companies participated.
After inauguration of the Job Fair, the Commissioner Secretary interacted with representatives of several local trade Trade Associations like Jammu Chamber of Commerce, President Warehouse Association, Bari Brahamna Traders Association, General Manager IOCL, JK Head of HCL, LIC UT Head as well as few other national and international companies. During interaction the representative of associations highlighted skill/training required for accommodating more and more candidates in different industrial centre within the UT. They also highlighted major problems being faced by them while searching and recruiting potential/eligible candidates.
Sarita Chauhan urged the participating and potential recruiters to register on the online portal jakemp.nic.in and informed them that the portal has also been integrated with NCS portal which has 1.92 lakh employers onboard. She highlighted that more than 50 thousand unemployed youth from J&K have already registered at the platform.
The Commissioner Secretary underlined that the platform would serve as an excellent platform for introducing skilled unemployed youth of J&K with recruiters.
Director Employment, J&K informed that the job fair will be organized regularly and will be held in all districts besides the facilities for counselling and interaction with the companies will be carried on at the District Employment Centres for the youth. He highlighted that 1132 candidates were shortlisted for jobs after interview, 73 candidates were selected for job’s and 93 for skill training during the fair by different companies.
Notably, more than 3000 candidates participated in the Mega Job Fair and also some reputed organisations like LIC, Bajaj, Mahindra Motors, SBI among other companies projected jobs openings of around 1200 and selected prospective candidates for further training/selection.
