CIK Conducts Surprise Raids at Multiple Kashmir Prisons, Including Srinagar and Kupwara Jails

Srinagar, Nov 8: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday carried out surprise raids at several prisons across the Valley, including Central Jail Srinagar and District Jail Kupwara, officials said.

According to officials, the searches were part of an ongoing security initiative to monitor prison activities and prevent the circulation or use of prohibited materials among inmates.

“Teams from the Counter Intelligence Kashmir conducted searches at Central Jail Srinagar and District Jail Kupwara today. The operation aims to enhance internal security and detect any suspicious activities,” an official stated.

The raids were carried out in coordination with prison authorities, and sources confirmed that inmate barracks, personal belongings, and prison documents were thoroughly inspected during the operation.
