Case Filed Over IHPL Controversy in Srinagar, Probe Underway: Police

Srinagar, Nov 3: Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the controversy surrounding the Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) T20, a privately organised cricket tournament in Srinagar, following reports of chaos, cancellations, and unpaid dues.

A senior police officer confirmed that an FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of law, and a detailed probe is underway.

Players associated with the league alleged they were not paid their promised amounts and were suddenly asked not to come to the stadium due to “technical issues.” Some also claimed they were asked to vacate their hotel rooms.

The IHPL had featured several local and international cricketers, but it was not recognised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), raising serious questions about the event’s credibility and organisation.
