Body of Second Missing Soldier Recovered in Kokernag Forests

Anantnag, Oct 10: Security forces on Friday recovered the body of a second missing soldier from the dense Ahlan Gadole forest area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

An official told that the recovery came after five days of extensive search operations launched jointly by the Army, police, and paramilitary forces in the area.

Earlier this week, two soldiers had gone missing during an anti-terror operation in the forested region. The body of one soldier was recovered on Thursday, while the second was found today, the official confirmed.

He added that search and sanitization operations are still underway in the area to rule out the presence of any remaining threat.
