B2V4: First round kick-starts with great enthusiasm across Kathua District
Visiting Officers inaugurate projects of public importance, inspect rural assets and interact with locals
KATHUA, OCTOBER 28: To provide governance at the doorsteps of the rural populace and to enlist community participation, the first round of the fourth phase of ambitious flagship ‘Back to Village’ (B2V4) outreach programme was today set in motion across 68 Panchayats of eight blocks of district Kathua.
In all the blocks where the programme was rolled out, a number of activities were held in different Panchayats wherein Visiting Officers held interaction with PRI representatives, frontline Government functionaries and prominent citizens. Detailed discussion and deliberations were held on core problems/issues being faced by the villagers, ways to resolve them besides finding methods to increase rural income.
Awareness regarding individual beneficiary based schemes and guidelines of government schemes to help develop the rural economy was also generated by the frontline workers of different departments and the visiting officers.
The villagers apprised the Visiting officers about the difficulties being faced by them in availing the benefits under different schemes and other issues concerning the panchayats.
At Panchayat Airwan in block Nagri, Secretary to Government, Information Technology Department Prerna Puri- the Visiting Officer inaugurated the Boundary wall with two gates at CFC Jamral taken up under CAPEX.
In Panchayat Janu of Block Bhoond, the Secretary/CEO J&K KVIB Farukh Qazi handed over Self Employment Loan documents to beneficiaries, while at Panchayat Sandhar Additional Secretary to Government Revenue Department, Sudershan Kumar kick-started repair work of Panchayat Ghar Sandhar under CAPEX.
Special Secretary to the Government Housing and Urban Development Department, Ashish Kumar Gupta inaugurated newly constructed PMAY houses at Panchayat Saman of Block Basohli and participated in Greh Pravesh Ceremony besides inaugurated village Rural Haat.
The stalls of different departments were also established at panchayats where officers of concerned departments generated awareness amongst the villagers.
During the day long activities, inauguration of recently completed works including establishment of Rural Haats, PMAY houses besides inspection of new works under MGNREGA, distribution of land pass books, health cards presiding over sports events besides inspection of rural assets was also done by the visiting officers.
