<strong>Awareness/ Public Outreach Programme held at Dak Bungalow B’la</strong>

BARAMULLA, MAY 25: In order to make youth  especially unemployed women  aware with regard to various Centrally and UT sponsored welfare schemes meant for their socio-economic development, the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, ICDS today organized Awareness Cum Public Outreach Programme at Dak Bungalow, here.

The programme was inaugurated by Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safeena Beigh.

A large number of women including a group of SHG members participated in the programme. 

Speaking on the occasion,  the Chairperson DDC stressed upon grassroots level implementation of schemes and its awareness among the people at large. 

Highlighting the objective of the skill development programme under JKRLM,  the Chairperson said that the programme is rolled to assist women and SHG members to augment their skills and improve their livelihood opportunities.

The up-skilling of SHG members will expand their capabilities thereby increasing the possibilities of employability,  added the Chairperson.

The Chairperson DDC also highlighted the achievements of the Social Welfare Department under various welfare schemes including NSAP, ISSS, NFBS PMAGY and others. She further asked to make women aware of all the schemes meant for their upliftment.

Meanwhile,  the Chairperson DDC also handed over 27 motorized tricycles among the eligible beneficiaries.

Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla, Nisar Ahmad Wani, Nodal Officer NRLM besides other functionaries of concerned departments were present on the occasion.
