Amit Shah: India Will Not Tolerate Threats to Its Citizens or Borders

JAIPUR, July 17 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Thursday that India has sent a clear and firm message to the world — anyone who threatens its citizens, borders, or armed forces will face serious consequences.
Speaking at an event in Jaipur marking the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, Shah referred to recent counter-terror operations, including Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for significantly enhancing the country’s security posture.
“During the Congress era, terror attacks were frequent,” Shah said. “But under Modi’s leadership, we responded decisively — from the surgical strikes after the Uri attack, to the airstrikes following Pulwama, and now, targeting terrorist camps inside Pakistan through Operation Sindoor.”
He emphasized that Modi’s bold actions have established India as a strong, secure nation. “A global message has been delivered: do not mess with India’s people, borders, or defence forces,” Shah asserted.
He also highlighted India’s development under Modi, noting that the country has now become the fourth-largest economy and that 22 crore people have been lifted out of poverty.
Shah praised Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for decisive action against the paper leak mafia, forming an SIT to address the issue, and for boosting investment. He said the state had signed MoUs worth ₹35 lakh crore, with projects worth ₹3 lakh crore already underway. He also noted reductions in VAT on fuel and effective implementation of central government schemes.
Highlighting the importance of the cooperative sector, Shah said it plays an active role in 98% of rural India. He lauded the formation of the Union Ministry of Cooperation and listed key achievements, including:
- Launch of 61 new initiatives in 4 years
- Setup of 40,000 out of 2 lakh planned Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS)
- Full computerization of PACS
- Adoption of new PACS model bylaws by all states
He also spotlighted Rajasthan’s agricultural significance, announcing government-led research on camel breed conservation and the health benefits of camel milk.
During his visit, Shah virtually inaugurated 24 food grain warehouses and 64 millet outlets, and toured an exhibition featuring cooperative products.
The event was attended by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, *Deputy Chief Ministers Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari, and former CM Vasundhara Raje, among others.
