DDC Re-poll: DC Kupwara finalises preparations
Inspects deployment of Polling parties, material despatch
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray, who is also District Panchayat Election Officer, Kupwara on Sunday convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalize the preparation for re-poll of DDC constituency Drugmulla, scheduled on 5th of this month.
SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas and Dy. DEO Kupwara, Mehraj-u-din was present in the meeting.
The DC took stock of preparedness, by deliberating on actions & plans of concerned departments in respect of deployment of Zonal, Sectoral Magistrates/Officers, deployment and randomization of polling staff, training of staff, distribution of election material, Control Room for grievance redressal, transport and security arrangements.
The DC gave directions to all concerned to put up their best efforts for smooth conduct of the election and asked Nodal Officer to enforce the Model Code of Conduct strictly.
While reviewing the detailed arrangements of transport, security and material management, he instructed that fool-proof arrangements be kept in place for ensuring hassle free movement of men and material.
Emphasizing on efficient tackling of poll related grievances, he said that control Room will function round the clock for grievance redressal.
The DC was apprised by concerned Nodal Officers about the finalization of proper and adequate arrangements especially on allotment of polling staff and their training, installation and provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF).
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officers, Sectoral and Zonal Magistrates/Officers.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with SSP Kupwara inspected the deployment of polling parties and material at ACD Office Kupwara.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that the polling staff and polling material has been dispatched for all 42 polling stations.
Dy. DEO, Returning Officer, ARO, Nodal Officers and election staff were present at the occasion.

Awareness Program regarding violence against Women Held at Shopian
SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 4: In a continuous bid to carry out the awareness with regard to importance of gender equality, NRLM Shopian in collaboration with DLSA, MSK, ICPS, OSC held an awareness programme at Shopian
in support of the United Nations and MORDโs theme โUNITE, Activism against gender Violenceโ.
The month long campaign has been divided into different activity based schedules which will be carried at Village Level Organizations, Cluster Level federations, Block Mission Management Units and then at District Mission Management Unit of National Rural Livelihoods Mission Shopian.
Among others, the function was attended by staff of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian, Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) Shopian, Mahila Shakti Kendar (MSK) Shopian, One Stop Center (OSC) and NRLM (UMEED).
Resource persons of collaborating departments provided their information to SHG members and shared their supporting structure by which any type of women violence which gets identified, will be dealt in a well-structured manner.
On this occasion , representatives from MSK Shopian provided a brief preview of their departmentโs women centric services and finally shared the help line number, 181, where girls as well as women can dial and share their grievances for proper redressal, while as team of ICPS Shopian highlighted about their inclusive role of providing their services to teenage girls and also to disintegrated children who are directly or indirectly being affected by gender violence in their homes or in their society.
Further the MSK assured their full support in terms of counseling, linkage through one stop center (OSC) which is operational in the district to address the day to day issues of women.
Threadbare discussions were carried by the representatives from the DLSA Shopian who assured the participants that legal free services in any form could be availed from their side and particularly to women folk.
DPM FI NRLM Mr Irfan Basheer carried a gender pledge to have a safety net onboard at each community based organization of NRLM Shopian while as Uzma Mehraj, DPM Livelihood Mission provided Vote of thanks to the participating guests from different line departments
