GDC Ramgarh organized Short Story telling Competition on the eve of World Aids Day-2022

SAMBA, NOVEMBER 30: Red Ribbon Club(RRC), Government Degree College Ramgarh in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Aids Control Society, Department of Health & Medical Education, J&K Govt and Higher Education Department, J&K organized Intra College ‘Short Story Telling Competition’ on the eve of World Aids Day-2022 on the theme “Equalise: Achieving Equity to End HIV / AIDS”. The whole event was organized under the able guidance and Coordination of Prof.(Dr.) Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College. 

A large number of Students from the college participated with great enthusiasm in the competition.

Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College, said that World AIDS Day is a moment to honour over 40 million lives lost to AIDS, take stock of the AIDS response, and commit to ending AIDS. It is an opportunity to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who died. We must equalize for women and girls to reduce their HIV risks and stressed the need of awareness among people for prevention and prophylaxis.

In the Intra College Short telling Competition, Jagmeet Kour of B.A. Semester First Stood First, Sarbjeet Singh a student of B.A. Semester-I bagged second position whereas Aryavansh, B.A. Semester-III Clicked the third position. The event was adjudged by Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma & Prof. Risha Kumari.

At the Outset, Dr Sandeep Kumar & Prof. Risha Kumari, Nodal Officers, RRC, briefed the students as well as the participants about the importance of the day and this year’s theme.

The other faculty member present were Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Anjali Bala, Dr. Varinder Kour, Dr. Ekta Rani & Dr Uma Prasher.
