Comm Secry RDD visits Baltal; Takes stock of sanitation arrangements in view of upcoming SANJY-2022
GANDERBAL, JUNE 18: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur today had an extensive tour of Baltal in order to have first-hand appraisal of the sanitation measures put in place by the department in view ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2022.
The Commissioner Secretary was accompanied by Director RDD, Kashmir, Imam din; Director Rural Sanitation, J&K, Charandeep Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Ganderbal, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat; ACP Ganderbal, Bilqees Wani; Superintending Engineer REW Kashmir, senior officers of RDD and other allied departments.
During the visit, the Commissioner Secretary inspected the toilet units installed at various halt stations including Baltal Base camp as well as along the Yatra track.
Expressing satisfaction over sanitation arrangements put in place, the Commissioner Secretary stressed upon the officers for completion of all pending sanitation arrangements on war footing basis.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner Secretary also held a review meeting at Base Camp Baltal with Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shyambir and various agencies being involved in installation of sanitation facilities during the Yatra period.
Speaking during the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary delved upon the officers to work in coordination and synergy with each other so that all the sanitation arrangements are put in place well in advance for the smooth conduct of yatra.
