GDC Samba conducts Plantation drive on College Campus
SAMBA, MAY 31: Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba in collaboration with Department of Agriculture & Pollution Control Board organized Plantation Drive in the college premises under the aegis of “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav”.
The main aim of the programme was to increase green cover on the campus to evolve a pollution free ambiance.
Principal of the college, Dr. Surinder Kumar inaugurated the drive by planting saplings of Neem (Azadirachtaindica).
Speaking on the occasion, he thanked the department of Agriculture & Pollution Control Board for providing 100 saplings of different plant species which were planted by the staff & students. He also asked the students to adopt one plant each to make the campus beautiful & green.
The programme was organized by the Department of Botany. Senior faculty members Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Prof. Vijay Kumar (HOD Botany) and Dr. Yash Paul Singh were also present on this occasion.
