BARAMULLA, MARCH 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, accompanied by SDM uri, today visited border sub-divsision Uri and presided Block Diwas programme at the village Gohallan to address public grievances at their door step.
During the programme, PRI members and general public raised several demands and grievances, including upgradation and repair of roads, inadequate availability of ambulances, construction of safe community bunkers, staff shortage at NTPC, and the lack of a playground for children at Gohallan, among other issues, urging the DC to ensure their swift resolution.
On the occasion, the DC facilitated on-the-spot redressal of several issues, including matters related to ambulance procurement, staff shortage at NTPC, road repairs, and other infrastructural concerns, by involving the concerned departments.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC assured the public and their representatives that all their genuine issues and demands would be taken up on priority for swift redressal.
Meanwhile, S.F. Hamid directed all departments to conduct comprehensive awareness campaigns about all the government sponsored beneficiary schemes in the Uri Sub-division to ensure that people are well informed and able to avail the benefits.
The programme was attended by SDM Uri, Prince Kumar, along with other officers from various civil and police department, and a large number of people from village Gohallan and adjoining areas.
Later, the DC interacted with Ex-Servicemen during his visit to Uri Sub-division who put forth many issues concerning their welfare. He assured them that all their demands will be taken up for swift resolution.
