Srinagar, Jan 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the Class 10 annual regular examinations, recording an overall pass percentage of 85 per cent.
Officials said that more than 94,000 students appeared in the examinations, which began on November 3 across the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of the Jammu division.
A total of 994 examination centres were set up across the Kashmir region for the conduct of the exams. According to JKBOSE, 68,804 students from the ten districts of the Kashmir division and 25,224 students from eight districts of the winter zone areas of the Jammu division were enrolled for the examinations. Additionally, 660 students from Kargil district and 95 from Leh district also appeared in the exams.
Earlier, the Board had stated that nearly 95,000 students were registered to take the Class 10 examinations.
It is pertinent to note that JKBOSE had announced a 15 per cent syllabus relaxation for students of Classes 10, 11 and 12. The decision was taken following recommendations from the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ), along with representations from other stakeholders.
The relaxation was granted due to the delayed commencement of the academic session and disruptions in the academic calendar caused by heatwaves, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.
According to a notification issued by the Director Academics, JKBOSE, students appearing in the annual regular 2025 examinations in the Kashmir division, winter zone areas of the Jammu division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh were required to attempt 85 per cent of the syllabus, which was to be evaluated as 100 per cent marks, thereby availing a 15 per cent syllabus relaxation.
