Mission Vatsalya Bandipora Organises Awareness Programme on Prevention of Child Marriage

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 29: Mission Vatsalya (Child Protection Services) Bandipora, in collaboration with Mission Shakti, organized an awareness programme on the prevention of child marriage today at various tuition centres in Aloosa A, Bandipora.
The initiative aimed to discourage the harmful social practice of child marriage and promote the protection and rights of children.
During the programme, officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Helpline (CHL), Child Help Desk (CHD) and Mission Shakti actively engaged with students, teachers, and community members.
The participants were sensitized about the ill effects of child marriage, with emphasis on its serious physical, psychological, educational, and social consequences, particularly for young girls.
The officials highlighted the legal provisions related to the prohibition of child marriage and stressed the collective responsibility of society in reporting and preventing such cases. Interactive discussions were held to encourage students and educators to act as change agents within their communities.
As part of the awareness drive, informative posters carrying key messages against child marriage were displayed at prominent locations across the block to enhance public awareness and outreach.
The programme also featured the administration of a pledge against child marriage, wherein participants committed themselves to opposing the practice and supporting efforts to safeguard the rights and well-being of children.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti Bandipora towards creating a safe, informed, and child-friendly society through sustained awareness and community participation.
