ASI Booked in Assault Case in Doda: Police

Jammu, December 06: Police on Friday said they have registered an FIR against an Assistant Sub-Inspector after he was found involved in an alleged assault case in Doda.

The action follows a written complaint filed on December 3 at Police Post DH Doda by Anzar Majid Malik. In his complaint, Malik accused Ghulam Ali, son of Mohd. Maqbool Dar of Sadeeqabad Doda, of wrongfully restraining and assaulting him.

Based on the complaint, Police Station Doda registered FIR No. 272/2025 under relevant sections of law and started an investigation. During the probe, it was found that the accused was serving as an ASI in the police department.

Police said they maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct within the force, and the legal process is being allowed to proceed without any interference. The investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken as per law.
