Recruitment Underway to Fill Vacant Veterinary Assistant Posts: Government

Srinagar: The Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department has informed the Legislative Assembly that recruitment is underway to fill vacant posts of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and Livestock Development Officers across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a written reply, the department said that over 800 veterinary centres and dispensaries are currently operating in rural and semi-urban areas to strengthen animal healthcare services.

The government added that livestock farmers and breeders are being supported through centrally sponsored schemes such as the National Livestock Mission (NLM), Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), and Integrated Sheep Development Scheme (ISDS).

It further said that mobile veterinary units have been deployed in remote areas to deliver doorstep healthcare services for livestock, along with vaccination drives and artificial insemination support.
