Economic Offender Arrested After 4-Year Manhunt: CBK
Srinagar, Oct 12: The Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir has arrested Khalid Sahani, son of Farooq Sahani, resident of Reshi Mohalla, Khar Doori, Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar, after a four-year manhunt.
A long-pending warrant had been issued against him by the Court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Vailoo, District Anantnag, on December 3, 2021, under Section 512 CrPC, in connection with FIR No. 38/2018 under Sections 419 and 420 RPC registered at Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir.
Officials said Sahani had been evading arrest for the past four years. Acting on credible inputs, the Economic Offences Wing apprehended him on October 10, 2025. He was produced before the court, which ordered his judicial custody and sent him to Central Jail Srinagar.
The Crime Branch Kashmir said the arrest marks a major step forward in a financial fraud case and reaffirmed its commitment to bringing economic offenders to justice.
