Rotary International organising 5 day Mega Health Camp at Basholi

JAMMU, OCTOBER 11: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the arrangements for the Mega Health Camp to be organised by Rotary International from Oct 27 to Oct 31, 2025 at Basholi.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Principal GMC Kathua, Director Health Services Jammu and office bearers from Rotary International.
The Mega Health Camp would offer free- of-cost advanced medical care and surgery services to people from marginalized sections of the society living in remote and far flung areas of District Kathua.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner discussed different logistics arrangements for smooth conduct of the mega health camp.
He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure adequate arrangements for transportation and accommodation of Specialists arriving for rendering their services and other necessary requirements.
The Health Department was asked for prior identification and screening of people who require advanced surgery and medical treatment in the district while prioritising the patients who are needy and poor.
The Director Health and Principal GMC Kathua were asked to provide medical equipment, supporting staff and paramedics during the five day mega health camp.
It was informed by Dr. Dushyant that around 800 advanced surgeries were performed at the last Mega Health Camp held in Doda-Kishtwar region.
The Divisional Commissioner asked for wide publicity via Radio and other media to mobilize maximum number of people for availing the services at the mega health camp.
