License of 2 hotels, dhaba suspended in Kangan over food quality tests

Ganderbal, Sep 10: The Food Safety Department has suspended the license and registration of three eateries — two hotels and a dhaba — in Kangan area of Ganderbal district after they failed mandatory food quality checks.

Incharge Food Inspector Fayaz Ahmad said that samples were collected from several restaurants during routine inspections and sent to a laboratory for testing. “After the reports showed irregularities, the license of three establishments was suspended,” he said.

Officials added that legal action will be initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act. The department has urged people to stay alert and assured that inspections of hotels, restaurants, and dhabas will continue to ensure safe and hygienic food for consumers.
