Landslide Blocks Larnoo-Murgon Top Road in Anantnag; All Stranded Evacuated Safely

Srinagar, Aug 15 — A late-night landslide in the Larnoo-Murgon Top area of Anantnag district left nearly 30 vehicles stranded, officials said on Friday.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from Anantnag, with support from local police and the civil administration, carried out an overnight rescue operation under difficult conditions. All passengers and drivers were evacuated safely, with no casualties or property damage reported.

The incident came amid reports of cloudbursts and flash floods in multiple districts, including Ganderbal, Anantnag, and Kupwara. Authorities confirmed that no deaths or injuries have occurred so far.

In response to the adverse weather forecast, district administrations have set up emergency helpline numbers to provide quick assistance and address weather-related emergencies.
