Samba observes Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

SAMBA, AUGUST 14: District Administration Samba today observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to honour the memory of those who suffered displacement and loss during the Partition of India in 1947.
The programme, held at the DC Office Complex under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan, began with a two-minute silence followed by a short video depicting the events and impact of Partition.
The event was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ajay Bharti and other officers.
The Deputy Commissioner said the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and challenges faced by families during Partition and stressed the importance of unity, peace and harmony for future generations.
