CLUJ Celebrates Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Awards & Inaugurates Anti-Ragging Week
Jammu, 11 August 2025 – Office of the Dean student welfare Cluster University of Jammu today hosted a grand award distribution ceremony at M.A.M. College jammu to felicitate the winners of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP), Outstanding sports players of CLUJ and formally inaugurate Anti-Ragging Week 2025. The event also featured the administration of both the Viksit Bharat Pledge and the Anti-Ragging Pledge, reinforcing the university’s commitment to creating a developed, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, and coordinated by the Office of the Dean Students Welfare in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension and Outreach, the VBYCP engaged over 1,800 students through 25+ events held across all constituent colleges and schools from July to August 2025. Activities included the MY Bharat Registration Drive for digital onboarding, Viksit Bharat and Anti-Drug Pledge Drives, awareness workshops with over 600 students committing to a drug-free lifestyle, and creative competitions such as poster making, slogan writing, debates, skits, and a Youth Parliament.
The ceremony featured cultural highlights including a skit on Nasha Mukt Bharat, and a patriotic song by the Department of Music.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar lauded the students’ enthusiasm and reiterated the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Chief Guest Sh. Shantmanu, IAS, Financial Commissioner( ACS),emphasized sustainable growth, community development, and the importance of a drug-free society, while Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, Director Colleges, HED J&K discussed the four pillars of Viksit Bharat and the transformative potential of NEP 2020.
Earlier, Prof. D.S. Manhas, DSW, welcomed guests, and Dr. Shafia Saleem presented the consolidated report of pre-event activities.
The ceremony was attended by Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of Schools, Financial Advisor, Principals of constituent colleges, Heads of Departments, Directors, faculty members, administrative staff, and student winners. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Revika and Prof Sugandha Mahajan.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Archana Koul, principal Govt MAM College jammu.
