35 Kanals prime land retrieved in Kupwara Town
DC Kupwara inspects the retrieved sites; directs for intensification of drive
KUPWARA, MAY 28: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, a joint team of Revenue Department and Municipal Committee Kupwara carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Kupwara town on the Lolab By-Pass Road for retrieving land encroached by various encroachers.
After the completion of eviction drive, 35 Kanals of Prime Land costing about 7.00 Crores has been retrieved at a Prime location in Kupwara Town which shall be utilized for creation of Infrastructural facilities for the benefit of community.
Later in the evening, the DC visited Lolab By-pass Road in Kupwara town and inspected the site proposed for construction of a park and other Government infrastructure. The proposed site comprising of 35 kanals of state land, was evicted from illegal encroachers by district administration today morning.
On the occasion, the DC directed all concerned officers including respective Tehsildars of the district to safeguard the government property, State land and kahcarai land. He directed them to start a vigorous drive against illegal encroachers and evict all state and kahcarai land from them. He also appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration in retrieving the encroached lands.
Khalid Jahangir said that it was the state land which is being used for developing communication facilities, roads and infrastructure building for the larger benefits of public. He said that District Administration Kupwara is committed to create better infrastructure and improve civic amenities for the people of the district.
The DC was accompanied by Chairman MC, Reyaz Mir, Tehsildar Kupwara , Executive Engineer R&B Division Kupwara , CEO MC Kupwara, NT Kupwara-A and other concerned officers.
