30 TTP Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operations in Northwest Pakistan

Peshawar, Oct 10: Thirty Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists involved in the recent killing of 11 soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major, were killed in a series of “retribution operations” conducted in Orakzai district of northwest Pakistan, the army said on Friday.
The military personnel were killed earlier this week during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Orakzai district.
In a statement, the Pakistan Army said security forces launched a series of “retribution operations” against “Fitna al-Khawarij” — a term used by the government to describe the banned TTP — following the October 7 attack.
The army said that during an operation in the Jamal Maya area of Orakzai, 30 terrorists involved in the earlier assault were “sent to hell” after an intense exchange of fire.
“These successful operations have avenged the heinous act and brought the main perpetrators to justice,” the statement added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the soldiers for “safeguarding the motherland against the enemy by risking their lives,” while President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the forces for their “courageous” action.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the operation, saying, “We will not let the terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij hide anywhere in Pakistan.”
Pakistan continues to face a surge in militant violence, with overall terrorist incidents reportedly rising by 46 per cent in the third quarter of 2025. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains the worst-hit region, accounting for nearly 71 per cent of violence-linked fatalities, followed by Balochistan.
